Made in LA

For better or worse, LA will always be my city.  One thing that can fall into either the "better" or "worse" category, depending on the day?  Melrose.  Early yesterday, I focused on the random wall art, diverse crowd, new pop-up shops, and the just-enough-grime before the day began.

Urban Outfitters camo jacket (similar here and on sale!). Rag and Bone jeans. Cake for Breakfast ampersand tee. Urban Outfitters beret. Vintage Gucci bag. Jewelry: Alex and Ani bangles and Michael Kors Astor Buckle bracelet

Dallas (Part II)

I love attending weddings, and as time passes and lives go on, sometimes a wedding is the only opportunity to reunite with friends scattered across the world.

Some highlights:

Pre-wedding coffee at the The Weekend in the adorable and funky Joule Hotel.

A pumpkin patch outside of the church in honor of a fall wedding.

Cute questionnaires from the bride and groom for guests to complete at the reception.

The opportunity to wear a head piece...

...with what I thought (possibly incorrectly) was perfect attire for an afternoon Southern wedding. Rebecca Minkoff clutch. Kate Spade jewelry. Anthropologie dress and headpiece. Via Spiga shoes.

Dallas (Part I)

Oh, Dallas.  I'll give you credit for some decent BBQ in a decent Farmer's Market, the original Neiman Marcus, being the hometown of a solid friend whose wedding I attended last weekend (though he lives in Hong Kong by way of London, Boston, and New York - and those are the cities that I know of), and...well, that's about it.  Unfortunately, despite these things, you are still tainted by a big state fair (not a big fan of fairs), way too much football, country music, rodeos, the misrepresentation that Whataburger is better than In-n-Out (lies!), and the assassination of JFK, among other things.

Some photos of the good Dallas:

A colorful chili garden with some deliciously bright chili.

Tasty BBQ (brisket was winner) from Pecan Lodge...

In the Farmer's Market with giant (and abnormally bright) fruit and veggies.

Seattle (Part 2)

Seattle had such a beautiful summer that I went back for fall (and the Seahawks/49ers game).  Admittedly, the weather was not as great, but the sun still shined and the Pacific was still fantastic.

Also fantastic but not photographed: field passes to my first professional football game and the unbelievably loud stadium (I'm nobody's sports fan but I'm big on new experiences).

Topshop Crepe Tee Shift Dress (different color here).
