Saturdaze

Coffee, hitting a museum as soon as it opens, eating lox, making a cocktail and lounging - all in one of the most comfortable dresses.  A perfect NY Saturday.

Zara scarf.  Vince dress.  West Elm bar cart.

Houston Heat

It's been 20 years since I hit H-town, and what I remember still remains - the suffocating heat.  How do you combat it?  You can't.  But, what you can do is wear comfortable clothes, eat serious comfort food, hit the newly built Hermann Park, and visit the Menil Collection (including the Rothko chapel).

Hermann Park in Alice & UO dress, Madewell denim jacket, Vince white slip on shoes (similar here), and Louis Vuitton show bag.

Pappadeux (platter of shrimp, scallops, blackened catfish, crawfish and dirty rice).

Killen's BBQ (jalapeno sausage for the win).

Shipley's Donuts (where in addition to donuts, they specialize in Kolaches - a Houston specialty).

Outside the Menil in Banana Republic denim top.  SOLD Design Lab boyfriend jeans.  Vince white slip on shoes (similar here).

A random bride in a beautiful dress outside the Menil who I don't know but couldn't resist photographing.

Dans le Jardin

I have to say that my appreciation for themed parties has grown over the years and the appreciation hit its height at one of my most tasteful friend's visionary french garden themed baby shower.  Some highlights:

The colors and class.

The sweet dessert spread.

The even sweeter wishes for the baby.

The rustic evergreen favors.

And my personal favorite, the mother-to-be's shoes.

Apple Orchard, Farm Commune, Wedding Vows

Wedding season is here and what better way to kick it off than a rustic chic wedding unlike any other!  What made this wedding extraordinary:

The Venue (on a farm commune/apple orchard where the groom grew up and where a wedding has never been held).

The Accommodations (optional camping on the farm commune and the Boonville Hotel for those who opted out - i.e., me).

The Farm Family (who worked together to build EVERYTHING for the wedding, from tables and chairs to the bar to the photo booth to the dance floor to the coasters to a significant amount of food).

My dress (which screamed apple orchard day wedding to me).

The locally sourced beer and wine, the generators to light up the farm, the miles of nature, but most importantly, The Bride and Groom (who did a damn good job of sabering a champagne bottle for the first time).
